Conveniently located to serve Naples, Bonita Springs, and Estero
SkinPen microneedling is a form of collagen-stimulation therapy that employs small needles to prompt the body’s natural wound-healing response. SkinPen microneedling in Bonita Springs promotes the growth of new tissue and skin cells, creating healthier skin.
Why Undergo SkinPen Microneedling?
This treatment stimulates new cell production and collagen growth. Fine lines, age spots, hyperpigmentation, melasma, and stretch marks are all reduced with this treatment. It also helps to heal acne scarring and surgical scars by breaking down scar tissue. It penetrates deeper tissues, which effectively increases the skin’s healing process.
SkinPen microneedling therapy provides a relatively short downtime compared to other rejuvenation treatments. Because it does not involve any active ingredients or laser application, SkinPen is a recommended treatment for people with particularly sensitive skin and darker skin tones.
Is SkinPen Microneedling Suitable for Me?
SkinPen microneedling is suitable for people who have acne scars, acne, fine lines, wrinkles, pigmentation, melasma, and stretch marks. SkinPen has been used safely on a wide range of patients, regardless of skin types. Good candidates have a positive outlook and realistic expectations for the treatment’s results.
The SkinPen Procedure
On average, the SkinPen microneedling procedure takes 30 minutes to an hour. Depending on your needs, Dr. Houck may administer a topical anesthetic to your skin after washing it prior to the treatment. A topical numbing medication is used to make the SkinPen procedure painless.
SkinPen microneedling will begin with Dr. Houck operating the instrument with an up-down motion against the skin. This technique can be done repetitively on the treatment regions to get the greatest results. SkinPen needles reach various lengths in the tissues to effectively address the treatment area.
SkinPen microneedling technology enhances blood flow to the treated area and fosters the creation of new tissues by producing micro-injuries in the dermis. Then, to repair the treatment area, new collagen is created and new skin is formed. Skin remodeling is the process of replacing the treated area with fresh tissue.
SkinPen Microneedling Aftercare
Following SkinPen microneedling, the treated region may display redness, depending on the strength of the treatment. It’s possible that minor bleeding will occur. It is recommended that you refrain from wearing makeup for at least 12 hours. Swelling and bruising may be more noticeable on the second day of recovery. It is recommended to use a moisturizer frequently.
Dr. Houck will advise you not to exercise for 24 hours after SkinPen microneedling and not to do any severe exercise for the next 48 hours. You’ll also be told to stay away from saunas and hot tubs until the redness goes away. In three days, your skin may be pink or normal. The skin may feel tight or dry once the swelling goes down, and some moderate peeling is normal.
After SkinPen microneedling, cold compress application is encouraged to ease discomfort. After two to three days, you may return to your regular skin-care products. Dr. Houck will strictly instruct you not to undergo any skin-rejuvenation treatments for two weeks after your treatment.
How Much Does SkinPen Microneedling Cost?
SkinPen microneedling is less expensive than other skin-rejuvenation treatments. The price of SkinPen therapy varies depending on the size and number of treatment areas. Health insurance will not pay for this treatment’s cost, because it is a cosmetic treatment.
